Outside my new apt in NYC Chinatown !

I've sublet my apt in San Francisco and decided trying to live in NY for the summer. I had a apt in Chelsea for June and a couple of days ago, I moved in to my new sublet in the middle of Chinatown. Great Apt with all amenities and tons of space for NYC and located in the middle of the hustle-bustle of NYC Chinatown and good roomates too, also working in startups. I took this picture this morning when I got out of my door.

Valparaiso Street Art, Chile

Valparaiso is a coastside city about 1 hour from Santiago, Chile. It's known for it's bohemian culture, great art and one of the hilliest cities in Chile. The city is build on hills and there's not much flat land. Hence, the city has ascencors all over the place to actually climb up the hills. You pay a little fee to get in the ascensor to bring you up, but there are always the stairs if you prefer to climb it up.

But what I liked best about the city were the numerous art work all over the city. Anywhere you go in Valparaiso, there's art and that too, great art. The city commissioned artists I think to paint up all the alleys, houses and every ugly piece of blank wall into the city into great pieces of art.

It was fun walking around exploring the so many different art in the city. The artists in this city are very talented ! Really enjoyed visiting the city which is an art museum in itself !

Street Tango Dancing, Buenos Aires, Argentina

While walking around in Buenos Aires, I encountered many tango street performances. It's always great to watch such great shows for a few pesos donation. I did not have too much time while there to take extensive tango lessons, but I did try it a couple of times in my hostels.. the basic steps and beat isn't too bad.. but I am sure combining them together to look gracious is a whole another story :)

Marchand La Tisane.... (Medicinal Infusion Seller)

In the Central Market in Port Louis, we have a couple of  'Marchand La Tisane'.

They sell all kind of herbs that are supposed to cure all kinds of ailments such as cellulite, eczema, pms, ulcers, gastro problems or herbs to better your being such weight loss herbs, etc.. Not too many of these sellers left.

Unfortunately a dying folkore... but most Mauritians do have some of these herbs that they grow in their yard to cure the most common ailments.

Jazz in the alley in north beach

Yesterday, while walking back from home, I stumbled upon the jazz in the alley event, at vesuvio lane in north beach. Its for the entire summer every second wednesday of the month from 5 - 8. I love my daily walking commute. There's always something happening everytime. In the mornings usually, its lots of Tai Chi and in the evening, plenty of live music in the many bars or park or alleys on my way.
