Vesuvio Jazz in the Alley - Jesus Diaz Latin Jazz Ensemble
Kaveh, my university roomate (we stayed together maybe 3 years or so) phoned me this evening while I was at work, to tell me that he just arrived in San Francisco for work for a few days.
He was staying in a hotel in the Embarcadero, not too far from my work. I left work to go meet him at Ozumo (the bar and resto at the ground floor of his hotel) for some Sake. I had a Saketini which was a wasabi sake with cucumber infused vodka.
After drinks, we decided to go eat some Persian food (Kaveh is Persian). He likes this place in North Beach - Maykadeh Restaurant (http://www.yelp.com/biz/maykadeh-persian-cuisine-san-francisco ). Food, Wine, Conversation and Company was excellent and best of all, everything was on the tab of Corporate America.

After dinner, took John to the Grant street Jazz festival in North Beach (http://www.sunsettickets.com/images/nbjazz/). Some 10 jazz bands or so playing in the different bars/galleries on Grant Street. Wonderful music and not a lot of people and weather is perfect too ! It was wonderful !

Yesterday, while walking back from home, I stumbled upon the jazz in the alley event, at vesuvio lane in north beach. Its for the entire summer every second wednesday of the month from 5 - 8. I love my daily walking commute. There's always something happening everytime. In the mornings usually, its lots of Tai Chi and in the evening, plenty of live music in the many bars or park or alleys on my way.
